About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to provide visionary leadership and guide its mission of developing, maintaining, protecting, and promoting a national scenic trail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and values, and serving as a primary spokesperson and advocate.
This role involves dynamic leadership, collaboration with the Board of Directors, and the ability to strengthen the organization's influence at local, regional, and national levels.
The Executive Director will also be tasked with driving fundraising efforts, overseeing financial management, and fostering partnerships with various stakeholders, including government entities and public-sector partners.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have senior leadership experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, with a proven track record in strategic planning, organizational development, and management.
Strong skills in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management are essential, as is experience in working with a Board of Directors and engaging volunteers.
The role requires excellent communication and public representation skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex partnerships, particularly with government entities.
Integrity, humility, and a respect for community-centered work are also key attributes for the ideal candidate.
Experience in membership-based or volunteer-driven organizations, or direct experience with national scenic trails or similar public lands entities, is highly valued.
