Description

Medical Billing Specialist
The Medical Billing Specialist assists in processing the accounts receivable.
The Medical Billing Specialist will support the department systems and procedures for efficient insurance and patient billing.
Essential Duties
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis.
Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader.
Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Daily posting of charges, payments, adjustments, rejections.
Efficiently work claim edits to facilitate clean claims submission.
Assist patients, caregivers, and insurance carriers with account questions using approved policies.
Handle correspondence and phone calls to resolve billing/claims questions/rejections.
Work with the team to maintain assigned account receivable goals.
Continued medical billing education to remain current with payer changes.
Maintain confidentiality with patient information.
Other assigned projects as needed.
Job Requirements
None
Minimum of one year billing experience, comprised of all insurance carriers
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with electronic billing systems, programs and applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in team environment
Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred- EPIC experience
