The Company is in search of a Senior Counsel to play a pivotal role as a key legal advisor in the realm of sophisticated commodity trading and commercial operations.
This highly visible position involves direct partnership with trading, risk, commercial, and executive leadership teams, where the legal strategy is integral to the business's success.
The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of complex commercial agreements, as well as advising on legal and contractual risks associated with commodity trading activities.
The role also includes overseeing legal support staff, coordinating with external counsel, and developing standard agreements and legal playbooks to support scalable trading operations.
Applicants for the Senior Counsel position at the company should hold a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school and be an active member in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
A strong background in energy, commodities, or sophisticated commercial transactions, along with experience in a fast-paced transactional setting, is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of corporate legal principles, commercial risk management, and be adept at stakeholder management.
Experience in leveraging emerging technologies and AI tools is viewed favorably.
This role is suited for an attorney who is comfortable operating independently, managing competing priorities, and is eager to be embedded within the business as a strategic partner.
