Location: must live within a 120 mile radius Las Cruces, NM

Hourly Rate: $25.78-42.94/hour, depending upon location

Hours: Benefit Educators are not guaranteed a set amount of hours per week. Hours will fluctuate week to week and there may be periods of time with no hours (i.e. during nonpeak months of January - June). You will see increased activity during fourth quarter and should allow for their schedules to be more flexible and open between September 1st and December 31st. It is up to you as to whether or not they would like to work an event.

Timeline: Starting ASAP, contracted through the remainder of the year and FTE conversion will be contingent upon performance and desire to continue in this specific role.

Role Summary:

The role of the Benefit Educator is essential to our business's success. As the representative of Client, your primary responsibility is to conduct exceptional enrollment events that set Client apart from our competitors. In this client-facing position, you will educate customers about Client's products, services, and programs through various methods, including formal presentations, benefit fairs, and health fairs, etc. Your goal is to create a highly satisfying and positive customer experience, demonstrating knowledge, competence, and professionalism.

Required Responsibilities:

Have and maintain an active Life and Health Insurance License

Have experience explaining and presenting employer-sponsored benefits and health insurance

Willing to work on an "as-needed basis (including occasional last-minute requests)

Must be available during peak season (August-December)

Must be comfortable speaking to large groups as well as with individuals

Successfully introduce and educate Client benefit programs to all potential and existing customers

Troubleshoot any enrollment or benefit questions and/or concerns

Will need to be willing to travel within the geographic market to cover events

Must have reliable transportation

Will be expected to charge expenses for travel (car rental, air, hotel, etc) and will be reimbursed for those expenses

Must have access to email, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and cell phone

Must live local to the geographic area

Skills:

Knowledge of employee benefits including group (employer-sponsored) health, dental, pharmacy, vision, supplemental health insurance, and related services. Benefits paid by employer, employee, or both.

Knowledge of local market nuances (providers, networks, competitors) preferred

Bilingual capabilities (as needed in required areas)

Strong Presentation and PowerPoint skills, virtual and in-person

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA guidelines

Strong organizational skills

Tech savvy (Webex, Zoom, Skype, and other various platforms)

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Active Life and Health License required.

Reimbursements of Expenses

The Benefit Educator is eligible for reimbursement for all necessary and reasonable travel expenses incurred while conducting Client business to include personal car mileage, lodging, personal meals, car rental, other transportation, parking, and tolls. If unsure of any travel-related expense, please contact the Event Manager for clarification before submitting them.
