Procedural Scheduler

We are seeking a Procedural Scheduler to join our OR team that is committed to clinical excellence and building a patient-centered culture. Three Crosses Regional Hospital is an advanced, independent healthcare organization led by a local team of professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and being the first choice for patients and providers in the communities we serve.Position Summary: The Procedural Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient procedures, surgeries, and cardiology appointments while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service. This position serves as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical staff, and external facilities to facilitate timely scheduling, verify prior authorization has been obtained, and preparation for procedures.Primary Responsibilities: Schedule patient procedures, surgeries, and cardiology appointments according to provider orders and facility protocols. Coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, ancillary departments, and outside facilities to ensure appropriate scheduling and resource availability. Obtain and verify patient demographic, and prior authorization information prior to scheduling procedures.Ensure all required documentation, referrals, and pre-certifications are completed before procedures. Communicate procedure instructions, preparation requirements, and appointment details to patients clearly and professionally. Answer incoming calls and respond to scheduling inquiries in a timely manner.Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Reschedule procedures as needed due to provider availability, patient requests, or emergent situations. Monitor scheduling work queues and follow up on pending authorizations or incomplete orders. Minimal Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years of hospital registration or procedure scheduling. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures, health care billing and authorization. Experience with EMR systems.
