CNC Mill Machinist, Farmingdale, NY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components for aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-performance industrial applications.

This role requires strong knowledge of complex machining processes, blueprint interpretation, tooling, and tight tolerance machining in a fast-paced production environment.

salary: $47,840 - $83,200 per year

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
• Perform machine setups including tooling, fixtures, work offsets, and probing
• Edit and adjust CNC programs and tool offsets as needed
• Verify part dimensions using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and CMM equipment when applicable
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality workmanship
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and program issues to minimize downtime
• Optimize feeds, speeds, tooling, and cycle times for maximum efficiency
• Work with a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, plastics, and exotic alloys
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes
• Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Follow all safety procedures and company manufacturing standards
• Assist in training and mentoring junior machinists when needed
