Description
Summary:
Enhances and improves the SRIM experience for our residents, families, and visitors, promotes the core value of the Golden Rule, secure premises and personnel by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Speaks to and interacts with residents, families, and visitors while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
Must be alert at all times
Secure premises and personnel by patrolling premises and conducting walk throughs on an hourly basis
Ensure the security, safety and well being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
Document activities including hourly walks, in the security log
Answers main line and after-hours phone lines with a welcoming and inviting attitude, and always responds courteously
Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees, residents and visitors
Protect the community's assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues
Coordinate 30-minute meal breaks with nurse-on-duty, ensuring he/she is able to answer the after-hours line during that time period
Review and discuss important details with previous/oncoming shift
Communicate any issues/emergencies with Maintenance Director
Communicate with nurse-on-duty regarding any issues or concerns
Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
Follows written and verbal instructions
Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
Knows, understands, and follows established policies and procedures in emergency situations
Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures
Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management
Complies with attendance and call off policy
Attends and/or participates in mandatory meetings
Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families and visitors, and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor
Knows, understands, and follows HIPAA regulations
Takes initiative in work, seeks out additional information, and offers solutions/suggestions
Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties
Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
Assist other departments as needed, such as roll silverware for dining room

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess basic Security and Fire Inspection Procedures, Knowledge of Security Operations and Procedures.
