Junior Developer, Lincoln

Summary:
Amwins is seeking a Junior Developer to join our Technology team. This role involves collaborating across functions, developing prototypes for insurance-related solutions, improving business processes, and performing operational data tasks to support career development in data science.


Responsibilities
This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to grow their careers in data science while working on real-world insurance problems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with a business analyst and insurance brokers to prototype mock-ups and solutions for insurance-related problems.
Prototyping: Understand a problem and effectively demonstrate basic functionality and UI as a demo.
Optimization of Business Processes: Collaborate in identifying and optimizing business processes through the application of data-driven solutions.
Data Comprehension: Have an understanding of the data available and which datasets may be required for a given problem.
Operational Assistance: Assist when required on data pre-processing and analysis to validate solutions and developing out solutions into production capacity

Required Technical Skills
Proficiency with Python and core data science libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy).
Proficiency with Git
Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data.
Understanding of basic statistical and machine learning concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, validation metrics).
Understanding of basic data modeling, data cleansing, and data analysis techniques
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.
