Position: Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Effective Date:August 17, **** (Fall Semester)
Salary Range:The Assistant Professor AY ******* classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688/year $6,221 to $13,224/per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $131,000 to $141,000/per year, $10,916 to $11,750/per month. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in a relevant area of business from a business school with AACSB international accreditation is required; the degree must be completed by August 1, ****, or candidates must provide official notification of completion by that date. Candidates with a Ph.D. in an appropriate field of Engineering or Science are also encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in the areas such as artificial intelligence, business analytics, and cybersecurity. Candidates with other relevant teaching abilities will also be considered
Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum at undergraduate and graduate levels
Demonstrated potential for research, scholarship, and creative activities leading to publication and curriculum development
Demonstrated potential for service contributions to the department, college, university, and broader community

Preferred Qualifications:
As CSULB is elevated to Doctoral University: High Research Activity (R2) status by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, we are interested in candidates that have strong research pipelines and have published research in journals of high and recognized quality in the IS field
Teaching experience in artificial intelligence, business analytics, and cybersecurity. While all IS-related teaching expertise will be considered, expertise in these areas would strongly complement our current faculty's expertise and interests
Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to develop relationships across the university and surrounding community, as shown by previous volunteer work or service
Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population that is demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body

Duties:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
Engage in research, scholarly and creative activities leading to presentations and publications
Participate in service to the school, college, university, and profession/community

The Department of Information Systems is a department comprised of tenured/ tenure-track faculty, full-time lecturers, and adjunct instructors who collaborate with each other to serve the students of CSULB by offering information systems, quantitative methods, and business communication courses. Our mission is to educate capable professionals who can effectively develop, manage, and enhance business information systems for better operations and decision making. A successful information system student must excel in both in-depth understanding of business context and solid technical abilities.
