SpinLaunch is building Meridian, a next-generation broadband constellation designed to deliver high-capacity, low-latency connectivity to users around the globe. Backed by leading venture capital and engineering partners, we are rapidly scaling the design, production, and deployment of the satellites and ground systems that will bring Meridian online. Joining the Meridian team means working at the forefront of one of the most ambitious commercial space programs underway today— designing, building, and operating spacecraft that will reshape global connectivity. Your Mission on the Team: In this role you will be responsible for developing software tools that measure and optimize the effectiveness and feasibility of advanced satellite communication constellations. This includes: Using and creating software tools to model constellation performance, utilization, and lifecyclesConducting analysis to cater constellation solutions for customers. Working with the engineering team to optimize the constellation design Developing optimization techniques and algorithms to solve complex telecom constellation design problems, such as beam placement and interference mitigation Modelling global market demand for communication services and constellation support infrastructure (ground stations etc.)Optimizing computational efficiency of in-house modelling tools
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace, or related field Experience developing in Python (especially numpy and pandas) Strong understanding and knowledge of 3D vector geometry and calculus Ability to rapidly expand application specific knowledge sets and skills where necessaryPassion for understanding complexity and finding answers to challenging questions Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Qualifications: 3+ years of related industry experience Higher degree (Masters or PhD) in related field Experience architecting and managing robust and extensible software codebases Experience in optimizing computationally intensive software Experience in solving complex multi-dimensional optimization problemsExperience working on satcom or other telecommunication systems Experience modelling antenna radiation patterns Experience working on LEO satellite constellation(s) Experience in with LEO spacecraft and/or space mission top level design
ITAR Requirements SpinLaunch is required by the U.S. Government to comply with various space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
