Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee, Carthage

The Carthage/W. Carthage Wastewater Treatment Facility is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Plant Operator / Trainee.

The Operator / Trainee is responsible for assisting with operation and maintenance of facility and must be:

• in good physical condition;
• able to understand and follow written instructions and learn principles/procedures relating to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant;
• have plumbing, electrical, and computer knowledge;
• be mechanically inclined.

Applicants must possess:

• a HS or equivalency diploma;
• valid NYS Driver License;
• be able to obtain a wastewater operator license.

The position is full time with rotating weekend work, on-call service, and is provisional pending Civil Service qualification.
