Job Title: Electronics Technician Job Description This role focuses on diagnosing, testing, and repairing electronic equipment with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, and timely turnaround. You will refurbish equipment both functionally and cosmetically, work independently and as part of a team, and ensure all repairs are properly documented. The position requires comfort using computers, electronic test equipment, and small hand tools, as well as the ability to follow detailed written work instructions. Responsibilities Diagnose, test, and repair faulty electronic equipment in accordance with established procedures and instructions. Refurbish equipment to meet quality standards, including both functional performance and cosmetic appearance. Use computers, electronic test equipment, and small hand tools to perform troubleshooting, testing, and repairs. Read, understand, and follow written work instructions, diagrams, schematics, and test procedures. Record all repairs and maintenance activities accurately for each piece of equipment serviced. Troubleshoot, test, and repair point-of-sale (POS) equipment and related electronic assemblies. Follow the defined flow of order for testing equipment to ensure consistent and efficient processes. Perform soldering, calibration, and assembly tasks as needed to complete repairs and refurbishments. Meet established productivity, output, and quality standards while maintaining attention to detail. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues. Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to ensure successful completion of work orders. Essential Skills Hands-on experience diagnosing, testing, and repairing electronic equipment. Experience troubleshooting, testing, and repairing point-of-sale (POS) equipment. Proficiency with electronic test equipment and small hand tools. Ability to read and follow written work instructions, diagrams, and schematics. Strong electronics knowledge, including electrical fundamentals and circuit behavior. Soldering skills for assembly, rework, and repair of electronic components. Ability to perform calibration tasks on electronic devices and test setups. Strong attention to detail when following diagrams and test procedures. Ability to follow the defined flow of order for testing equipment. Problem-solving ability to identify root causes and implement effective repairs. Dependability and reliability in attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks. Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in the workplace. Capability to meet productivity and output standards while maintaining quality. Commitment to follow all safety procedures and guidelines. Additional Skills&Qualifications Comfort working with computers for documentation, test procedures, and repair tracking. Experience in an electronics repair or refurbishment environment. Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and repair tasks. Work Environment The role is based in a temperature-controlled electronics repair environment designed for light-duty work. You will work around electronic test equipment, computers, and small hand tools on a daily basis. The position follows a first-shift schedule and allows for both standing and sitting throughout the day, depending on the task. The facility emphasizes safety, organization, and a professional atmosphere while providing a clean and comfortable workspace suited to detailed electronic repair and refurbishment work. Job Type&Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
