We have an exciting opportunity for an entry level Municipal Engineer to join our team in Madison, WI. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ drinking water, stormwater and wastewater challenges locally and worldwide.
You’ll be involved with designing and rehabilitating new and existing municipal infrastructure for a variety of projects including transmission, distribution, and collection pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities and treatment facilities. You’ll work with water, stormwater, and wastewater systems. You’ll participate in field and condition assessments and coordinate with our technical experts to identify solutions for our clients’ needs. You’ll be expected to perform calculations, modeling, and use critical thinking skills to prepare technical reports and participate in the production of construction drawings and specifications. If you’re up for the challenge, we’ve been looking for someone just like you. You will have the opportunity to lead and work on:
- Master planning for “outside-the-fence” assets, including evaluating facility capacity, condition assessments, and preliminary engineering
- Watermain, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer replacement planning and design, including the development of detailed construction documents (plans, specifications, reports, etc.)
- Design reports for the recommended sizing of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems based on projected growth and/or climate-driven models
- Capital improvement plans that prioritize and sequence the needed infrastructure improvements
- Opinions of probable construction costs
- Regulatory agency coordination, permitting, project funding and public and stakeholder involvement
To be successful in this position you must be s elf-motivated, team-oriented, and organized, with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The work we do requires strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in order to effectively collaborate within our multi-disciplinary teams of both internal and external stakeholders.

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate or ability to obtain within six-months of hire.
- Working knowledge of capitol improvement plans, sewer and water infrastructure, hydraulics, state and federal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, studies, proposals and/or reports.
- CAD experience in AutoCAD, Projectwise and Bluebeam.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $80,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
