Overview:
A growing industrial automation group is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to support the build and integration of custom-engineered equipment. This role focuses on control panel layout, wiring, and installation of electrical components for automated systems in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Role Summary:
Responsible for assembling and wiring electrical systems for custom automation equipment, including control cabinets, PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motors. This position requires the ability to interpret electrical schematics and bills of materials, while also identifying and addressing potential design or performance issues during the build process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout and wire control panels and backplanes for automated systems
  • Install and connect PLCs, HMIs, drives, and motors
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and BOMs
  • Perform panel modifications, drilling, and layout using hand and power tools
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality and safety compliance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wiring or design-related issues during assembly
  • Support equipment installations, including travel up to 25%
  • Work independently and assist in other production areas as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience wiring industrial control components (PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors)
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Must provide basic personal electrical tools

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10-hour shifts)
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Comfortable working in various industrial environments (hot, cold, dusty, etc.)
