Protection & Controls Engineer

Job Overview:

A leading design, engineering, and project management organization is seeking a skilled Protection & Controls Engineer to ensure the safety and stability of power distribution networks. This role involves developing protection and control schemes, conducting power system studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success. Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to create efficient and reliable electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations.

Design and develop protection and control schemes for power distribution networks, ensuring safe and reliable system operation.

Conduct power system studies and analyses to identify potential issues and optimize performance.

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling power distribution networks.

Work closely with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to successfully implement protection and control solutions.

Provide technical support during installation, testing, and maintenance of systems.

Stay current with industry standards and best practices related to power system protection and control.

Meet project timelines and deliverables while maintaining high work quality and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Protection & Controls engineering.

Experience within the power utility sector.

Proficiency with AutoCAD software.

Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

Background in high and medium voltage systems.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Salary Range:
Up to $157,000, commensurate with experience.
