Lead Software Engineer, New York

Software Resources has an immediate job opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer with a major corporation in New York City.

MUST be comfortable working 4 days per week in office in NYC.

6+ month contract with potential to extend.

Scope of Work: 70% Backend 30% Front End, for this role the team needs someone who is full stack engineer

Description:

Looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Maui team (Monitoring & Automating User Interactions). You will be helping to build a platform that will perform continuous synthetic testing utilizing various testing frameworks. You will be collaborating with multiple engineering and QA teams to build features to streamline how we test its systems and analyzes their impact on operational excellence.

Technical Skills:

" Proficiency in AWS services (CloudWatch, Lambda, EC2, RDS, etc.).

" Strong experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

" Knowledge of container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).

" Proficiency in Java or Kotlin for backend development.

" Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).

" Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium or Cucumber.

" Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

" Experience with incident management tools, specifically PagerDuty.

Responsibilities:

" Develop backend services and tools using Java, Kotlin and Spring

" Develop frontend UI utilizing React (nice to have)

" Develop and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure 24/7 availability of our services.

" Design and implement automated solutions for incident detection, response, and resolution.

" Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and resolve performance issues.

" Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for operational tools.

" Create and execute automated tests using frameworks like Selenium, Cucumber or Behave to ensure tool quality and performance.

" Integrate and manage incident response processes using PagerDuty.

" Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures.

" Manage and optimize cloud resources in AWS to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

" Create documentation and training materials for operational processes and tools.

" Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a technical field

Bachelor's in CS (or related field) required

Considered a domain specialist, higher or unique level of expertise

Experience building scalable, robust, resilient and large scale systems

Exposure in collaborating with multiple teams in delivering high impact features

Experience working on relational and/or NoSQL databases

Write code in Kotlin, Java, Javascript, React

Use AWS products and services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, ElastiCache, Opensearch, CloudFormation, etc.)

Develop RESTful services

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. Computer Science or related technical field

Scripting experience with Python or Javascript

Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)

Required Education:

STEM Bachelors Degree
