Job Location - Sterling, VA (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite Per Week)

Pay Rate - Up To $106.40 Per Hour (W2 Only)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect to serve as a key thought leader in cloud security design and implementation. This role focuses on securing enterprise-scale environments across AWS, GCP, and Azure, while partnering with engineering and product teams to ensure secure, compliant, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities Cloud Security Architecture

• Act as a Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert for enterprise cloud environments.
• Design and implement secure architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Provide guidance on secure network, serverless, and cloud-native designs.
• Lead initiatives to reduce cloud security risks.

Security Reviews and Compliance

• Conduct architecture and configuration reviews to identify security risks.
• Recommend and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support security policies, compliance efforts, and assessments.
• Ensure alignment with best practices across cloud environments.

Systems Design and Implementation

• Create technical documentation, including detailed architecture diagrams.
• Support the implementation of security tools and solutions.
• Provide IAM guidance, including enforcing least-privilege access.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security seamlessly into development workflows.

Collaboration and Leadership

• Partner closely with product, engineering, and security teams.
• Work directly with cloud providers and vendors to evaluate new solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and foster professional growth.
• Provide guidance on the cost impacts of security architecture decisions.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with evolving cloud security threats, trends, and tools.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation on security standards and best practices.

Qualifications Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-based systems.
• Strong, proven experience with cloud security architecture and design reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Experience creating infrastructure diagrams and detailed technical documentation.
• Experience managing security exceptions and executing mitigation strategies.

Technical Skills

• Cloud Platforms: Strong working knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Azure security frameworks.
• Networking: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP routing and VPNs.
• Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Node.js, or Golang.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Containers: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environ
