Job Summary

We are hiring a Project Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting general construction projects in Guaynabo, PR. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineering professional who wants to build hands-on experience in construction project coordination, field support, documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

The Project Engineer will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to help keep construction activities organized, compliant, and on schedule. This role is ideal for a motivated self-starter who enjoys teamwork, problem-solving, and working in a stable environment with strong leadership, excellent benefits, and long-term career potential.

This opportunity offers exposure to industrial facilities, infrastructure, and general construction projects while helping develop the technical and communication skills needed for continued growth in the construction engineering field.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Review project plans, specifications, drawings, RFIs, and submittals to support accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, documentation, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal departments to help resolve project needs and issues.
- Monitor job site progress and help ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements.
- Identify project challenges and assist in developing timely, practical solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary: $54,000 per year.
- Benefits provided.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Job Type: Direct Hire.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Assist in the coordination and execution of general construction projects.
- Support project schedules, budgets, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project plans for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience exposure in construction, engineering, or a related industry.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Procore, or similar construction and project management platforms.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and teamwork skills.
- Self-starter with a dynamic, organized, and solution-focused work style.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience supporting construction projects, industrial facilities, infrastructure, or general construction environments.
- Experience preparing or tracking RFIs, submittals, reports, schedules, budgets, or project documentation.
- Field coordination experience with subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
