2nd Shift Tig Welder

This role focuses on high-quality cosmetic TIG welding on stainless steel equipment used in food service and institutional environments such as fast food locations, school lunchrooms, and hospitals. You will perform precise TIG welding on primarily 20-gauge stainless steel, ensuring all visible welds meet strict aesthetic and structural standards while working from blueprints, engineering drawings, and parts lists.Responsibilities

Perform cosmetic TIG welding on stainless steel equipment, with a strong emphasis on the visual quality of all welds that will be visible to customers. Complete TIG welding on primarily 20-gauge stainless steel components according to specifications and quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and parts lists to determine welding requirements and assembly details.Set up welding fixtures and use weld tables and guides to position and secure parts for accurate and consistent welds. Inspect welds for appearance, accuracy, and structural integrity, making adjustments as needed to meet quality expectations. Follow established welding procedures, safety guidelines, and manufacturing standards throughout all tasks.Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure parts are fabricated and assembled correctly and on time. Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for welding tools, fixtures, and equipment. Essential Skills

15 years of experience in TIG welding, including work with stainless steel and aluminum. Proficiency in TIG welding techniques for thin materials, typically 20-gauge stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and parts lists accurately. Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, cosmetically appealing welds.Capability to work from fixtures, weld tables, and guides to ensure consistent and precise welds. Successful completion of a weld test to demonstrate technical proficiency. Ability to pass a basic math test relevant to measurements and fabrication tasks. Additional Skills&Qualifications

Welding diploma or formal welding training focused on TIG and stainless steel applications. Experience welding aluminum components in addition to stainless steel. Familiarity with manufacturing or fabrication environments where cosmetic weld quality is critical. Strong problem-solving skills to address fit-up, distortion, or alignment issues during fabrication.Reliable work habits and the ability to work independently while meeting production timelines. Standard attire includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a t-shirt, in line with safety and practical requirements for a fabrication environment. The position operates on structured shifts: a first shift from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and a second shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., providing a consistent four-day workweek in a production setting.Job Type&Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.95 - $28.95/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
