Position Overview
This role involves testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a large healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest region. The successful candidate will perform maintenance rounds, troubleshoot issues, and carry out general repairs with minimal supervision, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe, clean working environment, adhering to unit-based safety and infection control protocols. Independently service and repair various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) equipment throughout the facility. Troubleshoot system problems and perform necessary repairs.Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks. Manage and organize equipment technical manuals. Order and maintain inventory of equipment parts following organizational policies. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Coordinate with external contractors as needed to support maintenance activities.Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a large acute care setting preferred. Proficiency in all required competencies for an Engineering Mechanic II role. Strong performance in hospital service standards as demonstrated in recent evaluations. Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair machinery and MEP systems.Physical capability to lift and perform manual tasks. Flexibility to handle a variety of changing duties. Education
High School Diploma or GED required. Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver's license required. Preferred certifications include Certified Healthcare Mechanic, C-10, State General Electrician's License, or related construction/industrial trade licenses. EPA Refrigerant Transition&Recovery certification is a plus.
All candidates must successfully pass a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment. Compliance with regional health mandates, including COVID-19 vaccination requirements, is mandatory.
