About the Role
Diligent Staffing Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented & experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join a growing team for a client in South El Monte, CA.
This is a full-time, on-site position for someone with strong estimating experience in structural steel & miscellaneous metals who can accurately prepare bids, analyze project requirements, & collaborate with internal teams to deliver project proposals.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and knowledgeable in construction estimating processes, with the ability to manage multiple bids & deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range:
$26 - $38 per hour

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, & bid proposals for structural steel & miscellaneous metals projects
Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, & project documents
Analyze labor, material, fabrication, & installation costs to develop competitive pricing
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, & subcontractors during the estimating process
Attend job walks and site visits to gather project information & assess scope requirements
Participate in post-bid discussions & assist in finalizing project pricing & scope details
Maintain organized bid records, estimate documentation, & project files
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, & internal teams throughout the bidding process
Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, & cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications
Experience in structural steel estimating required
Experience in construction, steel fabrication, or manufacturing environments required
Experience with miscellaneous metals estimating
Knowledge of construction methods, materials, fabrication, & installation processes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, & construction specifications
Experience using estimating software, such as Bluebeam, & Microsoft Office programs
Strong mathematical, analytical, & problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects & deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication & teamwork skills
