The Legal Plan Representative is the first point of contact for ALADS membership in need of legal representation. This role entails member interaction, information gathering, data entry management, record keeping, assessing and addressing time-sensitive matters while maintaining confidentiality and a positive member experience.Responsibilities
: Member Interaction: Answer calls/emails, field legal coverage related questions. Analyze issues, communicate with members, panel attorneys, and staff from various law firms. Information Gathering/Legal Intake: Follow intake procedures to collect personal details, verify membership status and case related details to assist individual members in need of legal representation.Inquiry/Call Assessment: Assess each call and prioritize time sensitive matters. Data Management: Accurately input information in a database, maintain confidentiality of all member information and records. Customer Service: Regularly follow up with members to ensure ALADS customer service objectives have been met. Provide updates and ensure communication is going well with the assigned attorney. Conduct customer service surveys and promptly report any concerns to manager.Written Communication: Type letters, emails, memoranda, reports, and other correspondence material from marginal notes, rough drafts, dictation and/or verbal instructions including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Provide clerical support to the Legal Plan Administrator and Manager and perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements: Qualified candidates must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize. Graduation from a 2-year college and 4 years of work experience OR a bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience as a client intake coordinator or related field. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, calendaring, scanning, recordkeeping, filing confidential documents, and type at a minimum net speed of 55 words per minute. Desirable Employment Standards:Familiarity with a law enforcement union’s legal plan operation is highly desirable. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and a dependable vehicle available to work each business day.
