Sociology Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Psychology and Sociology seeks applicants for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position to teach undergraduate Introduction, Criminology/Criminal Justice, Health Disparities, Research Methods, Sociological Theory and Family courses. Teach 12 credit hours with the option of supplementing research hours obtained through grant participation for teaching instruction hours. Lead students in course instruction, advise, and maintain adequate course records using Blackboard or Canvas. Advise undergraduate students and engage in scholarship. Participate in departmental, university, and community activities.Ph.D. or MS in Sociology, the sub-field is flexible (e.g., criminology/criminal justice, research, social psychology, Human Relations, or Family); however, candidates must have earned an advanced degree along with teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching/research experience at the undergraduate level. Knowledge of the principles and theoretical frameworks that shape the field of Sociology. Experience and working knowledge of the career opportunities within the discipline.Candidate must be comfortable working in an ethnically diverse rural community. Basic computer skills along with Excel and SPSS software knowledge are encouraged. Knowledge of the research process. Faculty should have good human relational skills.
