Description
Futurex is seeking talented individuals with a passion for technology to join our team as a Network Engineer. The position is based out of Futurex’s Engineering Campus, 15 miles north of San Antonio, Texas.

HOURS: Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, but availability to work nontraditional or weekend hours as needed is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain, support, and design network infrastructures in a data center and corporate environments.

Manage network firewall and switch equipment, including racking, stacking, and cabling.

Troubleshoot network, firewall, and infrastructure issues, assist Support Engineers in troubleshooting issues.

Maintain firewall and switch configurations, and update firewall and switch operating systems.

Analyze service stack and make recommendations for further improvements.

Design out and implement network infrastructure with taking into consideration availability, scalability, and security with relation to SLA requirements.

Identify processes and capabilities that can be streamlined and automated.

Communicate effectively to help bridge stakeholder and development requirements.

Work directly on production-level environments in a fast-paced, results-oriented organization with a rapid time to market.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Three or more years of experience in managing firewalls and network switches

Experience upgrading networking equipment and maintaining backups

Experience reviewing firewall traffic logs

Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash

Familiarity with network architecture and design best practices

Familiarity with SNMP, DNS, NTP, TLS/SSL

STRONGLY PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree

CompTIA Network+, Security+

Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE

Palo Alto Networks PCNSA and PCNSE

Experience with DevOps and Software Risk Evaluation (SRE) methodologies

Experience configuring Palo Alto Networks and Barracuda Firewalls, VPNs

Experience configuring Cisco IOS and NX-OS, vPC (virtual Port Channels)

Experience with network monitoring software such as Splunk, Nagios, or SolarWinds

Demonstrated track record meeting and exceeding SLA requirements.
