Community Planner / Outreach Specialist, New Jersey

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Community Planner/Outreach Specialist to join our Transportation & Environmental Planning team in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. The selected candidate will be responsible for translating complex technical concepts into comprehensible content and will play a crucial role in stakeholder engagement and public involvement efforts for major transportation infrastructure projects in the region.

The Community Planner/Outreach Specialist will be expected to:

Report directly to the NY Metro Environmental Lead in the Transportation & Environmental Planning group.

Oversee and execute stakeholder coordination and public involvement tasks for projects of varying scales and complexities.

Develop and produce content for social media platforms, press releases, and newspaper publications, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of project information.

Plan, organize, and facilitate client, stakeholder, and community meetings with a focus on effective communication and information exchange.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and deliver comprehensive presentations for both virtual and in-person meetings.

Design, implement, and manage online survey campaigns to gather critical data and insights for project development and decision-making processes.
