Mainframe System Analyst, New Jersey

Seeking a Mainframe System Analyst to manage the Application Lifecycle of mainframe applications built on the ADABAS/Natural platform, ensuring stability, modernization, and seamless transition as part of the Get Off the Mainframe initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct system analysis and documentation to support the transition away from mainframe technologies.

Engage directly with end users to understand business requirements and provide technical support.

Collaborate with the Get Off the Mainframe team, assisting with migration efforts.

Address short-term maintenance and bug fixes to ensure application reliability.

Mentor personnel, providing technical guidance and coordinating tasks across IT managers, Technical Services, Rail Operations, and other departments.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of supervisory experience in large-scale IT project implementation.

Expertise in enterprise-wide application planning and multi-platform environments.

Industry Knowledge:

Familiarity with transportation systems including bus, fleet, and rail maintenance, asset management, rail crew management, and train dispatching.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for optimizing IT solutions.

Technical Expertise:

Hands-on experience with ADABAS/Natural for system maintenance and improvement proposals.

Proficiency in documentation with formal recommendations for modernization.

Bonus Skills: Awareness of C#.NET and PowerShell scripting for additional system integration.
