You will translate customer demand into executable capacity plans while balancing service levels and operational constraints. - Master Scheduling & Processes: Develop, maintain, and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly master production schedules against capacity. Own and improve inventory control processes.
- Demand & Capacity Balancing: Translate customer demand/forecasts into executable plans, balancing capacity, labor, equipment, and material constraints.
- Constraint Management: Identify and manage bottlenecks and load-leveling opportunities.
- Strategic Analysis: Analyze data and recommend actions regarding overtime vs. outsourcing, make vs. buy decisions, capacity expansion, and inventory buffers.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory to align with working capital and cash targets.
- Collaboration & Partnerships: Serve as the primary planning interface across Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics. Partner with Procurement to manage supplier lead times and supply risks.
- NPI & Reporting: Support New Product Introductions (NPI). Prepare and present risks, trade-offs, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure planning practices comply with quality systems, safety standards, and internal controls.
- Experience: 5+ years in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment (high-mix environment preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
- Certifications: APICS / CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong plus.
- Methodologies: strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement concepts.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to present complex data to leadership.
