Production Planner Location: Newark, CA | Salary: $80,000 - $100,000/year Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire (Full Benefits) Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shift)

Job Summary Are you a strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a Production Planner to lead our end‑to‑end production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within our high‑mix manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Master Scheduling & Processes: Develop, maintain, and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly master production schedules against capacity. Own and improve inventory control processes.

• Demand & Capacity Balancing: Translate customer demand/forecasts into executable plans, balancing capacity, labor, equipment, and material constraints.

• Constraint Management: Identify and manage bottlenecks and load-leveling opportunities.

• Strategic Analysis: Analyze data and recommend actions regarding overtime vs. outsourcing, make vs. buy decisions, capacity expansion, and inventory buffers.

• Inventory Optimization: Manage raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory to align with working capital and cash targets.

• Collaboration & Partnerships: Serve as the primary planning interface across Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics. Partner with Procurement to manage supplier lead times and supply risks.

• NPI & Reporting: Support New Product Introductions (NPI). Prepare and present risks, trade-offs, and strategic recommendations to senior management.

• Compliance: Ensure planning practices comply with quality systems, safety standards, and internal controls.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 5+ years in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment (high-mix environment preferred).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.

• Certifications: APICS / CPIM or CSCP certification is a strong plus.

• Methodologies: strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement concepts.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to present complex data to leadership.
