Job Description:
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for validating and qualifying new packaging materials, such as foil, Tyvek, and film, for absorbable suture products. This role will involve collaboration with a Manufacturing Engineer and a Quality Engineer, with shared responsibility for process development activities. The Packaging Engineer will create validation plans in accordance with company standards. Additionally, the Packaging Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the materials being validated and will consult with the Principal Packaging Engineer regarding any identified gaps.
Education Required: BS (or above) Engineering Degree; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Packaging
Years Experience Required: 3-5
Will the contractor be working 40 hours a week? If not, weekly estimate? 40 hours / week
Does this position require the candidate to be onsite or remote, if hybrid what does the onsite vs remote schedule look like? Required to be onsite full time
What is your timeline for scheduling interviews? I d like to start as soon as possible
What product line will this person support? GST Focus Factory. Validating and qualifying new nylon film for our absorbable suture products.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs, develops, and tests a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products. Determines packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering. Designs package exteriors considering such factors as product identification, sales appeal, aesthetic quality, printing and production techniques. Responsibilities may include documentation management and/or coordination of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and may support prototype line development in manufacturing facilities/plants.
