About the role D-Wave is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QEC Software Engineer to co-design, validate, and test infrastructure for QEC. In addition, the selected candidate will also perform simulations and resource estimation for practical applications with state-of-the-art fault-tolerant implementations. What you'll do Collaborate with physicists and other QEC specialists to develop, simulate, and experimentally validate QEC codes Implement robust software components, integrate them into D-Wave’s software stack, and write comprehensive tests Work with stakeholders on both near- and long-term quantum computing applications including error correction resource estimation for practical problems Write clean, well-documented code and conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability Provide software mentorship and guidance on best practices and help drive adherence to software best practices About You MS or PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a specialization in quantum computing 5 years of hands-on software development experience with C, C++, Python, or another general-purpose compiled programming language 3 Quantum computing or quantum information experience including at least one modern quantum SDK such as Qiskit, Q, CUDA-Q, or Stim Competence with Git version control, build tools, and CI/CD pipelinesUse of software testing principles and practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability toeffectively communicate complex technical concepts.
