In this role, you will lead and deliver on the design, implementation, and experimental validation of novel gate and quantum operations for our dual-rail cavity qubit architecture. You will have hands-on responsibility in the development, implementation, and optimization of gate and operation schemes that deliver high-fidelity performance that advance the development of large-scale error corrected quantum systems. This position sits at the intersection of experiment, design, and theory and this role may span from component-level characterization through large-scale system-level calibration, testing, and benchmarking. You will work closely with hardware, control, and error-correction teams that translate new concepts into experimentally demonstrated capabilities. What you'll do Lead research on quantum control and calibration techniques for dual-rail cavity qubits that support our mission to build error-corrected quantum systems Driving pathfinding research to prototype, implement, and experimentally validate of new quantum operations for next-generation quantum processorsDevelop experiments and novel techniques to calibrate and benchmark single-, two-qubit gates, measurement, reset, and more Perform systematic studies to reveal limiting error mechanisms and identify solutions to improve and mitigate these limitations About You PhD with post-doctoral experience or equivalent work experience; or MS with 3+ years of work experience in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering or related field with focus on quantum computing, quantum information, or quantum error correctionEstablished track record of experimental scientific contributions Strong background in quantum control, quantum measurement, or quantum device physics Deep experience designing workflows to execute experiments, analyze data, and iterate on protocols based on results Proficiency in scientific programming for experiment control and data analysis (Python, Rust, Julia, MATLAB, C, C++ or similar)Strong teamwork and communication skills especially with working in interdisciplinary teams with professionals from other fields of physics and engineering A D-Waver's DNA We look at the future and say "why not"; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines.
