Financial Controller Hybrid | Shelton, CT | $160-180k + bonus (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial reporting in a hands-on capacity • Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, reporting, and strategic decision support • Coordinate audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors • Oversee tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and financial automation initiatives• Mentor and develop members of the accounting and finance team

Qualifications of the Financial Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • CPA preferred • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with leadership responsibilities • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment• Proficiency with NetSuite and strong Excel skills • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
