Help VA Careers - Psychologist: The incumbent is a staff psychologist and functions as Chief of the Organizational Development (OD) Department, providing intense organizational consultative services to Hampton VAMC. In this role, the OD Psychologist is tasked with determining when and how OD assessments and interventions are best deployed and leveraged in healthcare contexts where leaders and/or teams need maintenance of strengths, working to overcome a service deficit, or working to move beyond recently completed formal administrative reviews or investigations.Given the highly sensitive nature of the work, there is a high demand for the OD Chief to ethically manage multiple relationships, boundaries, and discretion of how, when, and with whom consultative data is shared. This is paramount as maintaining trust, psychological safety, and rapport are essential in staying effective and value added to the healthcare systems within the VISN/VAMC the OD Psychologist serves.The Organizational Development Psychologist Program Manager has full supervisory responsibility of the Organizational Development program. The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership, giving advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both clinical and administrative matters, effecting disciplinary measures of supervised staff, and assigning work and performance goals and completion of employee performance evaluations. Additional responsibilities include the development of departmental policy and its implementation, planning, implementing, and reporting the results of data-driven quality improvement projects that are designed to monitor the effectiveness of the Organizational Development Department and the Director's Change Management Team.The Organizational Development Psychologist has broad program management over the facility Organizational Development Program responsibilities. This program is designed to deliver specialized, complex, highly professional services that are important components. The incumbent will serve as a psychological executive with oversight in programmatic decision making which impacts staff, and other resources associated with program management. The decisions are made by exercising wide latitude and independent judgement.Responsibilities include operation and management of key clinical, training, research or administrative aspects of the Organizational Development program to include full responsibility for managing the day-to-day activities of this program. The incumbent may be responsible for supervision of staff.As an OD Psychologist, the Organizational Development Psychologist must be familiar with the field of organizational consulting psychology and the commonly accepted components of this field as outlined by professional groups such as the American Psychological Association, Division 13: Society for Consulting Psychology.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-4:30pm Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66 Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
