Remote Public Recreation Worker, New York

Role overview:

In this role, you will contribute to projects that help evaluate and enhance AI systems using your expertise in public recreation and community engagement.

No prior AI experience is required.

These projects will help you explore how AI can be leveraged to improve community programming, public engagement, and operational efficiency in government recreation services.

What does day-to-day look like:

Design and solve real-world recreation and community service scenarios to test AI reasoning.

Write clear, structured explanations covering program design, facility operations, budgeting, and event coordination.

Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, inclusivity, and alignment with public service standards.

Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of municipal recreation workflows and community engagement practices.

Requirements:

4+ years of experience as a recreation worker or supervisor in government, municipal parks, or public recreation programs.

Background in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Parks&Leisure, or a related field is preferred.

Comfortable using web-based tools for data review and annotation.

Strong English communication and reasoning skills.

Ability to describe program operations and community engagement processes clearly and effectively.
