Production Worker, New York

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Midwest is hiring a Production Worker in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
This role is responsible for bending, cutting, assembling, and loading reinforcing steel bars to meet customer specifications while supporting safe and efficient fabrication operations.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, the ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment, and flexibility to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
Compensation & Benefits Average annual earnings potential of $60,000+ • Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance • 401(k) and Roth retirement plans • Profit sharing and pay-for-performance bonuses • Paid parental leave • Tuition reimbursement programs • Employee stock program • Scholarship opportunities • Career advancement opportunities with a leading manufacturing company Job Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship • High school diploma, GED, or state/local equivalent required • Ability to pass a hair follicle drug screen, including THC testing • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold conditions • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work as needed • Willingness to work overtime and any assigned shift • Strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping standards • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment • Forklift experience operating a Class V forklift preferred Key Responsibilities Unload trailers and organize material into storage bins • Operate shearing machines to cut reinforcing steel bars to required lengths • Operate bending machines to shape reinforcing steel bars according to specifications • Operate overhead cranes to move, assemble, and prepare materials for fabrication and shipping • Operate Fabmatic machinery to cut and bend reinforcing steel bars efficiently • Assemble customer orders and load trailers for shipment • Use power saws to cut reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths • Apply epoxy touch-up coatings using spray equipment as required • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment • Assist team members with fabrication, material handling, and production tasks as needed • Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA standards, and housekeeping requirements About Nucor Nucor is North America's largest steel and steel products manufacturer and the continent's largest recycler.
