Job Cost Accountant
Manage and maintain job cost accounting, including tracking labor, materials, overhead, and project expenses.
Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., prevailing wage/Davis-Bacon).
Ensure payroll and job cost data align accurately with project budgets and contracts.
Reconcile payroll, general ledger, and job cost accounts.
Monitor project profitability and provide cost variance analysis and reporting.
Work closely with project managers, payroll, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain compliance with labor laws, union requirements, and government reporting standards.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support audits by providing payroll, job cost, and financial documentation.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
3+ years of accounting experience with job costing and certified payroll.
Strong knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, or similar).
Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
