Job Summary:
Under immediate supervision, responsible for a variety of duties in support of the Surgical Suites.
Job Responsibilities:

-Transports patients, specimens, supplies, blood and equipment as directed. Ensure all procedures are followed for the safe transport of blood and other specimens
-Responsible for transporting patients and family to holding area or waiting rooms
-Observes and communicates to OR desk or Charge Nurse any changes such as patient not being ready
-Immediately reports any changes in patient s condition during transport
-May be required to take emergency action as needed
-Helps to move and position patients in the Surgical Suite as needed
-Completes required documentation (Approximately 50% of duties.)
-Performs cleaning of operating rooms during turnover
-Follows established procedures and guidelines for cleaning operating rooms
-Performs daily and/or weekly cleaning within the Surgical Suites
-Maintains the cleanliness of the department which includes cleaning hallways, bathrooms, lounges and supply areas
-Complies with all relevant procedures and regulations related to hospital sanitation, cleanliness and safety
-Uses all cleaning products and equipment appropriately and safely
-Ensures that all procedures and regulations for proper disposal of waste items and material are followed
-Responsible for restocking supplies, linens and solutions
-Performs other support services as requested (Approximately 50% of duties.)
-Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

Required Skills & Experience:
-Zero (0) - three (3) years of experience.
-Ability to perform tasks in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations.
-Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques.
-Good communication skills.
-Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with hospital staff and patients.
-Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
-Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
-Ability to perform effectively in an emergency situation.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Healthcare experience.

-High School Diploma or GED.
