About the role

The Housekeeping Housemen will provide support to the Room Attendant during their shift and will clean and maintain assigned guest floors in accordance with all housekeeping procedures and safety and security rules and regulations.

Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned guest corridors, including hallway carpets

Walk all assigned floors at the beginning of the shift and take note of any areas that need immediate cleaning.

Ensure that closets are stocked with linens and supplies for Room Attendants to start their day.

At the end of shift, remove soiled linens and trash from the service areas and take them to appropriate locations.

Respond to guest requests and report any guest issues or lost and found items.

Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training in other areas of the department.

Maintain equipment in working order; report needed repairs to maintenance.

What you will be doing:

Maintain work area neat and organized.

Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations to include but not limited to: hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.

Report all unsafe conditions immediately.

Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.

Operate floor buffer and extractor.

Shampoo carpets.

Vacuum all carpeted areas (including offices).

Attend all mandatory meetings.

What you bring to the role:

Previous janitorial experience required; hotels and/or resorts preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physically able to move or lift moderate weights (50+ lbs); able to stand and be mobile for most of an 8 hour shift.

Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
