Job Summary Bethany High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as a High School Assistant Soccer Coach. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, helping to develop their skills on and off the field. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for soccer, a commitment to fostering a positive team environment, and a desire to promote the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among students.
Responsibilities - Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective training sessions and practice schedules. - Support the development of student-athletes' technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical fitness. - Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and prepare for competitions.- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages participation and personal development. - Monitor student-athletes' academic performance and provide support to ensure they maintain eligibility. - Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.- Assist in the organization and execution of team events, including practices, games, and tournaments. - Help manage equipment and supplies, ensuring all necessary gear is available and in good condition. - Attend coaching clinics and workshops to continue professional development and stay current with coaching techniques.- Promote sportsmanship and uphold the values and policies of Bethany High School's athletic program.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred. - Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level, with a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and strategies. - Certification in First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain within the first month of employment.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. - Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing high school soccer.- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required by the soccer schedule. - A positive attitude and a passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes.
