Sebree Custodian

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a custodian at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities - Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. - Ensure all school facilities are clean, sanitized, and organized to promote a healthy learning environment. - Maintain and restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as necessary.- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities. - Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. - Follow established safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning tasks. - Support the school's recycling and waste management initiatives.- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the school. - Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration.

Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required. - Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. - Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others. - Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. - Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
