Manufacturing Engineer, California

PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Palmdale, CA. This is an initial 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D-based model data environment to optimize the manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.

Evaluates equipment and tools' performance (including IoT devices, etc.) to verify their efficiency and investigate and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques best.

Work schedule will be Thursday - Sunday, 1st shift (5:30 am - 6:00 pm)

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

US Citizenship

Catia V5

Sub-Systems Required

Aviation Experience Required

Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production planning

Experience with some combination of the following: experience with manufacturing processes and procedures including fabrication, assembly, machining, and electrical in several disciplines including composites, metallics, machining, bonded assemblies &/or installations.

Previous experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement

Experience with MRP system or SAP or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application

Secret Clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years - required to apply
