Job Description

We are seeking an experienced welder to join our team for a full-time position located on the 1st shift. Your primary role will involve the setup and operation of metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas to weld steel and aluminum. This position requires the use of standard hand tools, overhead cranes, and fork trucks for material handling and product manipulation. Responsibilities include reporting labor hours, identifying and discarding non-conforming materials, assisting other personnel, and conducting inventory cycle counts. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to wear appropriate safety equipment and maintain a clean work area.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate MIG and tungsten inert gas welding equipment.

Use overhead cranes and fork trucks for material handling.

Report labor hours via electronic scanner.

Identify and discard non-conforming materials.

Assist other personnel and conduct inventory cycle counts.

Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Essential Skills

3-5 years of experience in MIG welding.

Ability to read and work with blueprints.

Experience with tubing and high beams.

Experience working with steel and aluminum.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to report labor hours electronically.

Additional Skills&Qualifications

Electrical wiring skills are a plus.

Ability to visualize the end result prior to completion.

American Welding Society (AWS) Certification is a plus.

Spanco provides on-going certification to AWS Standard D1.1.

Work Environment

You will be working in a metal shop manufacturing company in Las Vegas, Nevada, comprised of approximately 25 people. The work environment involves a large warehouse building with mostly individual work cells dedicated to welding, painting, and fabrication tasks. This is a fully on-site position with hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The position requires standing for extended periods, with some kneeling and bending, and involves working under varying temperatures due to annual seasonality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
