Purpose of the Role:

As a Maintenance Manager, your main job is to keep critical equipment running smoothly and ensure effective asset care and reliability (AC&R). You'll develop the Maintenance department, bringing discipline and accountability to meet plant needs. You'll report directly to the Plant Manager.

The maintenance team currently has basic skills, with no journeymen or electricians.

You'll manage a team of Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Planner. The PLC tech reports through the E&C Engineer. We're looking for someone with 10-15 years of experience who can build and improve our AC&R programs, using the Maintenance Module within SAP (CMMS). You'll need strong influencing skills to build the team, add electricians, and troubleshoot electrical issues. This is a non-union plant running 24/5, so you'll need both technical and leadership skills and a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Environmental Practices: Ensure the best safety and environmental practices are in place and followed.

Issue Resolution: Quickly identify and fix any process or maintenance issues.

Maintenance and Repairs: Keep all production equipment and facilities in good working order.

Cost Management: Control and manage maintenance costs.

Equipment Performance: Ensure all equipment is performing at its best.

Your Day-to-Day:

Supervise and provide direction to the plant mechanical trades and other staff, ensuring maximum productivity.

Lead the maintenance department to maintain all production equipment, buildings, and grounds.

Identify and fix process or maintenance problems and come up with action plans to improve reliability and uptime.

Implement maintenance, safety, and environmental practices.

Train and lead team-based process and equipment improvements.

Manage the maintenance budget.

Oversee the mobile equipment fleet and storeroom inventory.

Drive internal Reliability Focused Maintenance/Total Productive Maintenance process and continuous improvement program.

Use predictive technologies to maintain equipment.

Support MRO responsibilities and implement capital projects.

Maintain good housekeeping strategies.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

Education and Experience (one of the following):

A Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technical field) with 3 years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance.

A Journeyman's Card with 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance.

A Technical Degree (2-year) in a maintenance-related field with 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance.

Leadership and Management Skills:

Team Management: Lead a team of 10+ hourly employees. Responsible for performance evaluations, pay reviews, hiring, and terminations.

Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of maintenance processes and systems in a manufacturing setting.

Process Development: Ability to develop and stick to work processes and systems.

Change Facilitation: Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive sustainable change.

Project Management: Strong project management skills.

Skills and Abilities:

Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Safety Prioritization: Ability to prioritize and implement safety-related requests.

Analytical Skills: Proven analytical and quality improvement abilities.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP Systems (such as SAP) is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and maintenance scheduling systems.

Emergency Response: Willingness to respond to emergency situations outside of normal work hours.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Capability: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Typical manufacturing facility conditions, including exposure to cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust, mist, gas fumes, extensive walking, or climbing.
