Solon Center for the Arts is accepting applications for a Part-time Dance Instructor, specializing in Adaptive Instruction, for upcoming evening dance classes for the 2026-2027 dance season. Approximately 1-5 hours per week.
Weekly Group Dance Lessons (Late August 26 - Mid-May 27)
Monday - Thursday evenings Saturday mornings&afternoons
Private Dance Lessons

Additional hours for performances, special events, programs Qualified applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree in Dance or Dance Education from an accredited institution or have related work or performance experience equivalent to such a degree. Graduate experience is a plus. Interested applicants must have a minimum two (2) years of experience working as a Dance Instructor/Teacher. Applicants knowledgeable in any or multiple styles listed are preferred; ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, and acrobatics. Applicants must also have experience working with adaptive students.
Responsibilities include:
Create lessons, plan, prepare and instruct group/private lessons. Choreograph routines and prepare students for Winter and/or Spring performances. Assist with 2026-2027 end of the season performances.
Candidates for this position will work closely with the Dance Department Coordinator and must be able to work with students of all ages and skill levels, with a specific focus on preschool and school-aged children. Applicants must be professional and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom and may be the lead instructor during rehearsals and performances. In addition, the applicant should possess excellent problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to work in a team environment.
This position offers a starting rate from $28.00/hour. Compensation will be determined based upon previous education, performance, and teaching experience.
