Press Department Operator
General working knowledge of plant operations, specializing in the Press Department. Minimum one to two years experience operating a press (Tandem, Progressive, and/or Transfer). Duties include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for ensuring press is properly loaded with blanks/coil steel to run parts.Responsible for operating stamping press (Progressive, Tandem, and Transfer) in a safe manner and by standard operating procedures, per set-up instructions and assisting in maintaining equipment. Responsible for checking all parts produced are within quality specifications. Responsible for loading materials into proper containers.Responsible for running production quantities per specifications and requirements. Primary portion of work is in factory, ventilated, heated, non-air-conditioned facility. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable sitting/standing/walking. Position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, bending, handling, and/or use of tactile information.Must be able to express ideas or exchange thoughts by means of talking, hearing, reading and/or writing. Requires motor coordination, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination and may include transporting objects and lifting up to 80 pounds at times. Exposure to various types of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and other agents utilized in factory.Exhibits high degree of concentration and attention to detail. Follows supervisory instructions providing the instructions do not endanger persons or property and are legal. Suggests, initiates, and implements operation(s) improvement. Is dependable and punctual in reporting for scheduled pre-shift meetings.Demonstrates knowledge of department-specific and plant wide safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of role in safe operation of equipment. Keeps supervisor appraised of all production operations.
