Brake Press Operator
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and/or manual press brake equipment to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to blueprint specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.Responsibilities Safely set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts. Consistently wear required PPE in accordance with company policy. Complete monthly safety audits as required. Comply with all safety policies and procedures. Identify potential hazards and proactively resolve them.Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work instructions. Determine proper tooling, tonnage, and bend sequence for each job. Set up dies and tooling in accordance with specifications. Perform first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks. Accurately use measuring equipment including calipers, height gauges, and micrometers.Verify bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances meet specifications. Notify appropriate personnel when non-conformances are identified. Perform basic troubleshooting and make machine adjustments as needed. Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area in accordance with 5S principles. Work independently with minimal supervision once trained.Demonstrate critical thinking and mechanical aptitude in machine setup and operation. Model manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement principles. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience operating CNC and/or manual press brake equipment preferred.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bend charts. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Safety-conscious with a high level of accountability. Quality-focused with strong attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Demonstrates best practices and continuous improvement mindset.
