CNC Lathe Machinist
We are seeking an experienced Manual&CNC Lathe Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC lathes while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and thrive in a team-focused machine shop environment.Responsibilities Set up and operate manual vertical turret lathes, manual horizontal lathes, and CNC horizontal lathes Perform daily machine start-up, clean-up, and weekly preventative maintenance Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools including dial calipers, dial indicators, and OD/ID micrometersIdentify and label materials for traceability and additional machining processes Read and interpret blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Work safely and efficiently in a machine shop environment Support production needs by operating different machinery as required Maintain quality standards while meeting production goals and deadlinesQualifications 35 years of machining experience required CNC programming knowledge preferred (training available for the right candidate) Experience with large turning operations and parts over 1,000 lbs preferred Experience operating Monarch, Leblond, and Niles manual lathes is a plus Overhead crane and forklift experience preferredStrong knowledge of alloy steel materials Ability to read blueprints and BOMs accurately Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to lift 2550 lbs as needed Shift: 2nd shift (Monday through Friday 3 pm to 1:30 am) Salary: $20-$40 an hour based on experience plus $5 shift differentialBenefits $3,000 sign-on bonus for 2nd shift (paid in installments beginning after 90 days) 100% company-funded Employee Stock Ownership Plan 401(k) with company match Health insurance options Dental and vision coverage 6 paid holidays Company shutdown between Christmas and New Year's, plus one week in JulyPaid Time Off Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
