Production Process Engineer, Texas

Opportunity Snapshot:

Location: Deer Park, TX

Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+

Assignment Duration: Direct hire

Responsibilities:
Responsible for monitoring the daily performance of the Glycine unit, providing engineering support and coordinating resources between various departments to ensure safe, reliable and compliant manufacturing of Glycine at optimal costs

Track production metrics and remove bottlenecks to achieve production targets

Track process yields, establish targets/goals. Recommend and show improvement in yields in Glycine

Monitor process conditions to ensure adherence to safety and environmental limits

Participate in plant shutdown/turnaround planning and execution

Assist in the evaluation of any new products and or processes

Learn plant processes and become technical expert both internally and externally. Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis of any safety, environmental, production or yield issues

Modify (or develop new) procedures as required in accordance with plant policies for any such changes (MOC, etc.)

Train and mentor plant operations personnel on proper process techniques and changes to ensure continuity from day to day

Assist with loss prevention reviews and recommend/incorporate safety controls on new or modified processes

Lead small projects up to $250K

Qualifications:
A BS or higher in Chemical Engineering

2+ years of experience as a process/ production engineer in a chemical plant

Authorized to work in the United States

Familiarity with health and safety regulations, PSM/RMP

Working knowledge of office productivity software, including spreadsheets and word processing

Experience with standard operating procedures

Familiarity with continuous improvement processes
