Crew Dispatcher
Manage all crew changes to keep vessels crewed with qualified crew members. Input data in the Crew Management System (CMS). Oversee crew assignments and the placements of qualified crew. Responsibilities
Schedule and arrange crew changes including transportation to and from the vessel. Coordinate crew change with oncoming crew. Input payroll with the Vessel Crewing Manager. Create P.O. numbers for travel. Approve crew change invoices. Forecast crew changes to ensure that there are full crew on all managed vessels.Place new employees on a weekly basis. Work with Port Captains on crew issues. Work directly with crew members to solve issues. Coordinate placement needs with Vessel Crewing Supervisor. Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent telephone etiquette and manner. Organized, detail-oriented and accurate. Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative. Customer service focus. Good numerical skills. Ability to solve issues in a timely manner and coordinate numerous dispatch requirements.Ability to operate standard office equipment. Knowledge and use of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED. Some college preferred. Preferred 2-3 years related experience in marine barge transportation, tugboat, and barge transfer procedures.Physical Activities&Requirements: Standard Office Criteria Working Conditions: The Crew Dispatch department operates 24/7. Crew Dispatchers will be subject to working a rotating shift of both days and nights.
