A typical day might include:Gathers data used for creation of topographical maps Compiles information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans Compares survey computations with applicable standards in order to determine adequacy of data Collects information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant informationPrepares topographic and contour maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes Required Education/License/Certifications: Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Texas Board of Land Surveying, or Level II Certified Survey Technician certificationRequired Qualifications: 5-10 years of survey experience Project scheduling CADD experience is required and DOT experience is a plus Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs Strong communication skills both oral and written Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clientsLevel Up With LJA At LJA, we're 100% employee-owned.
