Job Title: Product Service Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Product Service Engineer to join its dynamic team of approximately 20 engineers. This team specializes in product support across different areas, including Current Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction (NPI). The new hire will be part of the NPI team, working directly with the design team to ensure that CAT dealers can efficiently service CAT equipment based on new designs. The primary focus of this role will be on engine electronic systems, including ECMs, displays, and sensors.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a liaison between service and design teams, ensuring serviceability of new designs.

Develop and identify effective service strategies for new products.

Create comprehensive troubleshooting procedures to support CAT dealers.

Assist in the development of service tests and identification of potential service risks.

Provide critical feedback to the design team to enhance serviceability.

Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes where applicable.

Typical Workday:

Identifying and developing service strategies for new product designs.

Creating and refining troubleshooting procedures.

Assisting in the development and validation of service tests.

Evaluating and addressing service risks related to new designs.

Must-Have Qualifications:

Strong understanding of engine electronic systems, including ECMs, displays, and sensors.

Ability to read and interpret troubleshooting procedures.

Experience working in a hands-on troubleshooting environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Caterpillar ET and SIS Web.

Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Practical hands-on troubleshooting skills and experience making repairs on CAT equipment or similar heavy machinery.

Work Environment:

Office-based role with collaboration between service and design teams.

Caterpillar prefers candidates with hands-on repair experience, as it provides valuable insight when ensuring the serviceability of new products.
